ABOUT DAYALBAGH EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE
Dayalbagh Educational Institute (DEI), commonly referred to as Dayalbagh College in Agra, is a prestigious deemed-to-be-university located in the serene, self-contained colony of Dayalbagh, Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Founded on the spiritual and educational ideals of the Radhasoami Faith, it is managed under the aegis of the Radhasoami Satsang Sabha and emphasizes holistic development, value-based education, and community service. DEI is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), approved by AICTE, and accredited with an 'A+' grade by NAAC.
History and Establishment
The origins of education in Dayalbagh trace back to January 1, 1917, with the founding of the Radhasoami Educational Institutes (REI) by Sir Anand Sarup (Param Guru Sahab Ji Maharaj), the fifth revered leader of the Radhasoami Satsang. Initial institutions included a primary school (1917), the Women's Training College (1930, later offering BA and BEd), and the Dayalbagh Engineering College (1950, for BSc Engineering in Electrical and Mechanical branches).
A pivotal milestone came in 1973 when the Dayalbagh Educational Institute was registered as a body integrating all Dayalbagh educational entities. In 1975, it introduced an innovative undergraduate program approved by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and UGC. On May 16, 1981, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, granted it deemed university status under Section 3 of the UGC Act. The colony of Dayalbagh itself was established on Basant Panchami in 1915 as the permanent headquarters of Radhasoami Satsang Dayalbagh.
Objectives and Vision
DEI's core mission is to evolve a "Complete Man" – a well-rounded individual with intellectual, moral, physical, and spiritual excellence, inspired by the motto "Better Worldliness" and the goal of creating a "Superman of tomorrow." It promotes value-based education integrating core courses, work-experience, social service, and cultural activities, fostering frugal innovation, self-reliance, and service to humanity. The institute envisions becoming a top teaching-cum-research university by 2031 through Total Quality Management, blending tradition with cutting-edge technology.

DEI offers over 200 programs across UG, PG, diploma, certificate, and doctoral levels in faculties like Arts, Commerce, Education, Engineering, Science, Social Sciences, and Management.
